Source Description
A gold horse stands under a blossoming cherry tree made of shakudo on the kashira. This illustration refers to a Chinese poem about a horse pawing fallen cherry blossoms, which restored their fragrance. The only other metal decoration on the tsuka is a gold band around the middle with three phoenix ("hô-ô") crests. This is part of a mounted set, all decorated with the same motif.
