Source Description
A range of techniques have been employed in enameling this plate. Beginning in its center and inner border, a band of abstract patterns in turquoise, pale blue, dark blue, and white encircles the piece Next is a band of emerald green, en plein enamel over a guilloché ground. The outer border has abstract floral motifs in red, blue, and green plique-à-jour enamel raised over a finely stippled ground. That the piece bears no maker's mark may indicate that it was originally part of a suite consisting of a stand and sherbert cup.
