It was added to the manuscript in the 17th century for a member of the Surlet de Chokier family of Liège who owned the book at that time. The front cover is decorated with the gilded armorial shield of the family inside a laurel oval and surmounted by a crest with a horned man. The crest is flanked by the monogram \"R C\".",
