Source Description
Mounting strong horses, the rival Genji generals Sasaki Takatsuna (left) and Kajiwara Kagesue (right) race each other across the Uji River. Takatsuna gains the lead by trickery-he causes Kagesue to stop by calling out, "Your saddle girth is loose!" The two have been sent by their commander Yoshitsune, who was engaged in 1184 in quelling the rebellious forces of Yoshinaka, his first cousin.
