It is always a pleasure to respond to the
Red Cross request for a statement supporting its
vital activities.
Nothing would give me greater pleasure
than to see Red Cross efforts for 1960 result in
a greater response than ever before by the Amer-
ican people and by so doing increase its ability to
serve emergency needs to the greatest extent
possible.
