January 21, 1925.
I
Mie e Mary H. Bethel,
Pharnacists Nates' School,
Hospital Station,
Norfolk, Virginia.
My dear lies Bethel:
I am enclosing a check for eighty-five
($85.00) dollare, for the ruge, and trust it will reach you
safely. I like them very much, indeed, and have taken them
to be washed and cleaned by the man we vitited together one
day when you were trying to get my ideas in regard to colors,
etc. He ie regarded as very reliable.
I was avay when your letter of January
11th reached the office, and did not return until 6 day or
two ego, and it was not until yesterday that I could find
timé to visit Miss Bowman's office and get the ruge. I think
you did very well for the money, and I am sure that after
they are thoroughly washed and cleaned they will be very
lovely. What would you like to have done with the trunk?
Miss Hertzer said she had written to you about it, but ahe
would be very glad to have me ask you also. If you are
coming to Washington perhaps you sould rather thave it kept
here. However, that is for you to decide. It was very good
of you to take the trouble to get these ruge and to send them
bsck, and I am wondering if you had any trouble in connection
therewith for if you did please let me know.
I an sorry to hear about your silver,
and while I am anxious to get my coffee eet this ie com-
paratively unimportant in proportion to the silwer. I had a
letter from Miss Anderson a few days ago, telling me she
feeling very much better. It seeme such a pity that she ie
80 far from etrong, 2.6 it unquestionably interferes very
seriously with her possibilities for work. I em very gled,
indeed, to know that you are going back into the Navy. Miss
Bowman neede all the good nurses that she csn get. She ie
very fine herself, and has only the highest aspirations for
the Navy. Again thanking you, nd hoping you will let me know
if you vere put to any extra expense, I am
Sincerely yours,
National Director, Nureing Service.
