    "ocrText": "B\nDear M iss Beard;\nIt is * about time for my annual report. Before I\nbegin I do want to say that I hope you are well and not working\ntoo hard for it looks as if you may have a long hard grind ahead of\nyou.\nAs for me - not long after I saw you I went out west\nas they were having quite an epidemic of strep, here I had a mild\nattach and I took my vacation early and came back quite ready for the\nlate spring and summer. In the meantime I had added work in the depart\nment as my assistant was home ill for four months. This summer we\nwere all busy readjusting our programs to meet the requirements of\nthe Bolton plan (Incidently iy has been the best thing that could\nhave happened to us here)\nI am telling you all this to sort of albi myself for not\nC\nhaving any report on my manuscript for you. I know you are interested.\nWell, I finally got enough of chapters ready, which I presented to\nthe publishers, in addition to two different plans of presentation. I\nworked out a complete outline of material I was in Philladelphia\nlast week with the following results: They are definitely interested\nand advise me to provede. Doctor Brodhurst (Columbia ) to be my advisor\nas regards organization so no time or effort will be lost. Mr Bacon\nof Lippencot'ss is arranging for a conference (at a luncheon here in\nN\nNew York) to discuss the scope of the book. At the donference he\ne\nexpects to have Misses Grant, Frost, Dr B. and I dont know who else.\nOf course it is hard to say what they will think. Mr Bacon is anxious\nW\nto get this on the market as soon as possible. He said that some one\nfrom the University of Washington wanted to submit just such a pro-\npesition but they said they had one. Now then, they appear to be in-\nterested enough that as soon as the conference is over and the size\nof the book determined I shall have a contract. I hope it will work\nout satisfactory.\nBy the way, I am chairman of a committee for the In-\ntegration of social and health aspects in the Curriculum. This is\na joint committee of the State League and the educational com. of\nthe 0. P.H.N. It wont be difficult as the National League has\nset up an elaborate plan. However I thought I would see Miss Frost\nas I know she could give me some good pointers. You told me once to\ncall on her in regard to the program we are working out here. I shall\ntell her you are a friend of mine:\nI was at Radio City the other day and went up and said\nhello to Dr Lambert. Had not seem him for ages. He had gained con-\nsiderably and said he felt fine. You will laugh at this. He gave me a\nlittle cook book and recommended it very highly. He's just the same\nas always. He talked of you and still misses you.\nwritten\nI haves a, long letter. I must stop now.
