President, Alumnae Association
Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital
School of Nursing
a
Hastings, Nebraska
-2-
April 22, 1942
You will be touched and pleased, as I was, to know that Mrs.
Breckinridge's daughter has given to this fund the life insurance
money which came to her and also the salary checks which her mother had
received.
I am sure that you Alumnae Association would wish to be in-
cluded in this expression of admiration and respect for the courage
of the first group of nurses to respond in this war. Mrs. Helrn R.
Scudder, 2900 "O" Street Northwest, Washington, D.C. is receiving
the gifts that are being made to this fund, and she will be very
happy to receive and acknowledge a gift if your Alumnae Association
decides it would like to make one. Checks should be made payable to
the Ruth Breckinridge Memorial Fund.
Sincerely yours
Mary Beard
