Davis, has\nasked me to send you the following message from the British Minister\nof Health, Mr. Ernest Brown:\n\"I am greatly distressed that some of the nurses who were\ncoming over to help us under the auspices of the American\nRed Cross have not yet been accounted for after the\nbarbarous attacks on the ships in which they were crossing\nthe Atlantic. If the fears for their safety should un-\nhappily be confirmed the loss will be great both to you and\nto us. Their sacrifice can never be forgotten. I should\nbe glad if you would express my deepest sympathy with all\nconcerned on your side.
