Miss White, Directors Dep' Hursing,
Pacifio Division of the Amerionn Red Oross
Morket Street,
San Francisco, California,
My dear liss White:
Some weols ago I wrote you in regard to Miss Hilda
Burrows, an English mose, desiring to locate in your Division, Prob-
ably, Globe, Arizona. Today Miss Burrows called at our office and
seemed very much worried because of her recent experience. I am
sure you are already familiar with the ciroumstances comected with
liss Colo's letter to lise Burrows regarding a position in Arizon.
It seeme after she received this first letter, she
resigned hor position here in Cleveland and sent a cablegrem to
London, England, advising her family she was leaving for Arizona,
and notified her landlady she was leaving; anl then very shortly,
received the vire and letter advising her to remain in Cleveland.
Miss Burrows alrendy had hor ticket and Berth, preparatory for leav-
ing Cleveland.
As I wrote you soue weeks ago, her only reason for
wanting to locate in Arizona was beasuse of very dear frionds. She
is alone in this country and naturally wishes to be near thome In-
asmuch as she has severed her connection with everything here and
is most desirous of locating in your Division, we advised her to
proceed to Los Angles, California and got in touch with you as soon
as possible. Her addross will be 1325 South Hope Stes Los Angles,
c/o Mrs. Lewis Oliver.
I havo taken a special interest in Miss Burrows;
have received a very splendid recommendation from Miss Elizabeth
Templeton, supervisor of Threses for Clevoland Board of Henlth where
Miss Burrows has been employed for the past nine months. I believe
you would find Miss Burrows a very splondid and a most reliable
waman to place in any community. We also advised hor to get a per-
som] letter of introduction and also a recommendation from Miss
Templeton, so that she will be able to secure a position shortly after
she arrives as we understand from her that her means are rather linitt-
ed. I em writing to you in the hope that you will talo a special in-
terest in Miss Burrows, and I am sure she will get in touch with you
as soon es possible, I am,
Very sinceroly yours,
BAZEE
