    "ocrText": "August 6, 1920\nara\nMiss White, Directors Dep' Hursing,\nPacifio Division of the Amerionn Red Oross\nMorket Street,\nSan Francisco, California,\nMy dear liss White:\nSome weols ago I wrote you in regard to Miss Hilda\nBurrows, an English mose, desiring to locate in your Division, Prob-\nably, Globe, Arizona. Today Miss Burrows called at our office and\nseemed very much worried because of her recent experience. I am\nsure you are already familiar with the ciroumstances comected with\nliss Colo's letter to lise Burrows regarding a position in Arizon.\nIt seeme after she received this first letter, she\nresigned hor position here in Cleveland and sent a cablegrem to\nLondon, England, advising her family she was leaving for Arizona,\nand notified her landlady she was leaving; anl then very shortly,\nreceived the vire and letter advising her to remain in Cleveland.\nMiss Burrows alrendy had hor ticket and Berth, preparatory for leav-\ning Cleveland.\nAs I wrote you soue weeks ago, her only reason for\nwanting to locate in Arizona was beasuse of very dear frionds. She\nis alone in this country and naturally wishes to be near thome In-\nasmuch as she has severed her connection with everything here and\nis most desirous of locating in your Division, we advised her to\nproceed to Los Angles, California and got in touch with you as soon\nas possible. Her addross will be 1325 South Hope Stes Los Angles,\nc/o Mrs. Lewis Oliver.\nI havo taken a special interest in Miss Burrows;\nhave received a very splendid recommendation from Miss Elizabeth\nTempleton, supervisor of Threses for Clevoland Board of Henlth where\nMiss Burrows has been employed for the past nine months. I believe\nyou would find Miss Burrows a very splondid and a most reliable\nwaman to place in any community. We also advised hor to get a per-\nsom] letter of introduction and also a recommendation from Miss\nTempleton, so that she will be able to secure a position shortly after\nshe arrives as we understand from her that her means are rather linitt-\ned.
