Chapter American Red Cross Fort Worth, Texse My dear Mise McLean: A copy of 8 letter addressed to Mr. Baxter, under date of June 24, 1928, contains the following statement regarding Mrs. Mario B. Cash: "ile wero informed by Mre. Mayo, former employer of Mrs. Cash, that "ayo Brothers wore robbed of more than $5,000 by Mre. Cash during the summor of 1925, is at which time one of the dayos was out of the office, due to the illness of himself and bis wife. Then the shortago was discovered, Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Cash loft Fort Worth and the officers have been unable to locate es them. With EO bad a record, I presume Mational Red Crose would not care to utilize Mrs. Cash, therefore we shall not make further effort to locate her unless requested to do 80 by you." A copy of this letter, togethor with a copy of that of Miss Grace Tucker, from the Branch Office, have bsen forwarded to us by Mrs. H. Vaughen, Assist- ant Direetor of Nursing Service, suggesting that Mre. Cash be disenrolled from the American Red Crose Nursing Service. As Chairnan of the National Committee, I chould certainly not feel justified in doing thie on the inadequate information which you have aupplied, particularly se Mre Cash, formerly Mise Marie B. Rhodes, has been an enrolled ned Crose nurse for some yesre and served with distinction during the Morld War, having charge of the Nursest Equipment Office in Parie under the American Red Crose, where she handled thoueands of dollare worth of nurses' equipment, including its distribution to difficult W points. Nise Rhodes' accounte vere in perfect condition upon ther termination of her service. uster Mies Rhodes served with us in Serbia, where ehe also rendered very devoted and conspicuous service.
