MAKING A WHISKY TODDY to suit the late Hamilton Fish of New York, was just one inci-
dent in the busy life of Miss Mary A. Clarke, who helped enroll the first 300 of the
Red Cross nurses which now number 89,650. Here she wears her Red Cross pin on the
gray uniform of her last position, Philadelphia city nurse. Fastening her collar is
the famous stork pin of Be levue Hospital where she entered training in 1885.
