Mrs. Ella V. Coquard,
230 Fast Miller Street,
Jefferson City, Mo.
My dear Mrs. Coquard:
Your note of the 13th has just reached me,
which contained the dollaryfor your pin.
I recall the circumstances under which you
were returned and would like to assure you of my deep sympathy
with your disappointment.
May I also thank you for your kind express-
ion of appreciation of my article in the Pictorial Review.
I am very sorry that you lost your Red Crosa
pin, for unfortunately one can never tell who finds them and what
use will be made of them. We are sending you another, however,
and hope that you will be more fortuns te in the future.
May I again assure you, that I have no
regret at sending you to Europe, and perhaps while the disappoint-
ment was very keen to you, that it was after all for the best that
you were returned.
Sincerely yours,
Director - Nursing Service.
