My dear Miss Lavis:
Our Connecticut State Committee on american Red Cross
Nursing Service has recommended your appointment as Acting Chairman of
our hartford, Connecticut Loca 1 Committee, for the period during which
Miss Narrict Leck, the present Chairman, is out of the country. We
understand that you are relieving Hiss Leck at the Visiting Nurse Associa-
tion and are indeed glad to learn of your willingness to accept appoint-
ment as Acting Chairman of our Local Committee on Red Gross Wursing Service
as well.
1, therefore, take pleasure in hereby appointing you Acting
Chairman of the dartford, Connecticut Local Committee on Red Cross Nursing
Service until such time as Miss Leck returns to the United States and
resumes ber duties àn Hertford. This appointment is made in accordance
with the rules governing Local Committees a's set forth in the enclosed
circular, A.R.C. 710, and for your present information, I am listing the
other nurses serving on the Committee.
