American University Women's Club
4 Rue de Chevreuse
Paris, France
My dear Miss Douglas
I wish that 1 could have been with you
on your holiday in the south of France. It no only sounds
restful, but charming in every way. Unfortunate for you,
however, if the sun did not shine. I was under the impress-
icn that it always shone in the south of France at this
season of the year.
The little clipping WSS read with & great
deal of interest, and your letter was passed around to the
various members of our staff who knew you when you were with
us.
The pin has been forwarded to you. We
are very glad to make you as present of it 80 do not bother
to send the customary one dollar.
I do not know whether I have written you
since Christmas, I hardly think that I have, but let me tell
you now that your card to me 86 well 8.6.to the Nursing Service
and also to Miss Butler reached UB quite safely. Re all
enjoyed the cards very much, as we not only appreciated your
thinking of UE, but the cards, themselves, were lovely.
There is 80 much I wan't to talk to you
about that I hardly know where to begin. In the firet place
I an listing Red Cross nurses who are in Peris who Might be
available for some service in connection with the Visit of
the American Legion. I have recently heard from Miss Francis, and
*iss Judy, and have them on my list, and naturally I have you.
I am wondering if you know of any other Red Cross surses who
might be available? Plane are very embryonic and are being
developed between the LORCS and the French Red Cross. Having
visions, however, of some of our people falling ill and being
railroaded into French Hospitals without any knowledge of the
