Miss Clara E. Du Brau,
Check
New England Hospital,
Boston, Mass
My dear Miss Du Brau:
E
Your lettor of May 24th enclosing your physical examination has
a
been received, and may I state that itwill be perfectly satisfactory for you to
take the third dose or typhoid vaccine at the time of sailing. I am glad
+
that you and Miss Jenkins Gan go together. and we will also request your assigu
ment to the same location, although we Cannot promise that you will always be
kept together. We are also using nurses for the same type of work in other
countries in Europe than in Serbia, and it may be that after your arrival in
Paris Miss Hay may find it necessary to assign you to somo other locality.
in which case I trust that you will accept the assignment chcerfully. You can
easily appreciate that conditions in Europe change from time to time, and even
though we expect your assigument to be in Serbia, you may be nee led elsewhere.
May I aslo acknowledge receipt of your letter of May 28th, and ap-
preciate greatly your attitude toward the sorvice. I shall roly upon you to
carry the 3 irit of the Red Cross wherover you may go.
May I give you the names of two of the nurses who are sailing on
June 11th on the S.S. Noordato with you and Miss Jenkins: Sara Lane, from Schen-
ectady, N.Y. and Glee Marshall, from Concord, Mass. Both nurses have been re-
cruited for the Serbiam Child Welfare Assosiation, but may, as indicated
above, be assigned to somo other locality. your other nurses at least will
sail on the sume vessel, and we hope to securo still four more reservations,
but of this last we are not positive. If it is not possible for us to secure
the third four reservations, the nurses who will suil with you will be Anna
Edison, porchestor, Mass.; Ada Taylor Graham, of ohio; and Olara C. Skornia
of chicago and surelia S. George of Ohio.
please feol free to communicate directly with us at any time, shou d
you so desire.
Appreciating greatly your response to our call, and ussurting you of my
continued interest, bolieve me as,
Very truly yours,
