174 West Third Street Oswego, N. Y. March 7, 1931 A.R.C. MAIL ROOM RECEIVED Miss Clara D. Noyes American Red Cross MAR q Washington, D. C. Referred to My dear Miss No yew:- I have received a communitation from Mr. Gustavus D. Pope, Chairman of the Detroit Red Cross Chapter in which he asks if I would confer with you in regard to the necessary outline of a letter of recommendation and whatever other credentials are re- quired, in order to submit Mrs. L. E. Gretter's name as one qualifying for the Florence Nightingale Medal. He was on his way to California and would be gone for several weeks, which would delay taking it up with you directly. He also knew that I was writing a biographical sketch of Mrs. Gretter, which probably accounts for his appealing to me. I am not altogether sure how much data is required to submit, but am enclosing copies of some material I have been using for reference. As you know Mrs. Gretter so well, I have not elaborated on it. If perchance other names have been submitted, will you be good enough to write Mr. Pope direct, and let me have a copy of it. His address is - Mr. Gustavus D. Pope, 1818 Ford Building, Detroit, Michigan of course it would be a tremendous incentive to the Michigan State Committee on Red Cross Nursing Service, if the Detroit Chapter of the Red Cross made the recommendation. With kindest regards, I am Sincerely yours, Aquar 9. Draws
