My dear Mrs. Hare:
Upon ay return from Europe August 10, I found a copy
Cor
J.
of the Re ort which you had written to the Assistant to the Secretary,
Department of Interior, and this was read with a great deal of interest.
Whild I regret that you did not feel it possible to remain the additional
six months, in order to see the plan which you had in mind put on E satis-
factory basis, it may be the best thing in the end.
I wonder if you would not like to send me a little
story of the conditions in the islanis for the Johns Hopkins Nurses'
Alumnee Magazine? I an putting a "personal" in the Alumnae Notes for
the next issue, stating that you have returned.
I am wondering if you have been able to secure the
position in which you were intereated at Kingsport, Tennessee? This is
just a hurried note, and not by any means sn adequate comment upon your
communication, or the status of our work in the Virgin Islands. It has
taken me sometime, as you can well imagine, to catch up with the corres-
pondence which I found upon my desk. With best wishes,
Very sincerely yours
Director of Nursing
