May I give you just one instance: A school person from
Illi-
nois vent into the Division office for further information, relative to put-
ting Home Hygiene in the 7th and 8th grades, and asking for information as
to how to use the textbook for this group. In advising me of the contact,
the Central Division states that they told her this could not be done; "they"
did not approve the use of the textbook for this age girl, nor could they cer-
tificate such a course. lie have, es you know, developed our Modified Course
particularly to neet euch needs, and information regarding this has been sent
from time to time to all Divisions; it is also included in ARC 704 pamphlet.
The Division has also had hundreds of students under instruction in the Modi-
fied Course. We of course wrote immediately to the Division seking them to
get in touch with the school and correct the information given, but from my
past experience in the field, I know how impossible it ie to try to correct
mis-statements and mieinterpretations- Had a Home Hygiene person been
on
the job, I hardly believe this would have happened.
May this have early consideration andranswer.
