    "ocrText": "D\n=\nJanuary 10, 1911.\nMy dear Miss Hibbard-\nJust before leaving for the Philippines your application\nfor enrollment as a Red Cross nurse was sent to me from New York.\nIn the confusion of getting things in shape for an absence of five\nmonths your application was not turned over to Mr.Magee with the other\npapers. I cannot remember at this time whether there was any reason\nfor this or not, possibly I may have thought the papers were not\ncompleted, and was rather appalled on my return to find the correspond\nence in regard to your application.\nThere was some discussion in regard to having on file\nuniform application blanks and this may have been the reason for the\nseparation of some of the papers. I am; however, sending with this\nyour appointment card and pin with my sincere apologies for the delay,\nWhile no definite rule has been made in regard to filing new applica-\ntion blanks still it is a great convenience to us in filing papers\nto have these blanks uniform. I cannot believe that anyone would\nreally object to this slight amount of writing and enclose with this\na blank form in case you are willing to send it to me. Kindly let me\nknow if the card and badge reach you safely. I enclose a postal card\nfor this purpose.\nVery truly yours,\nChairman, National Committee on Red Cross\nNursing Service."
