Mrs. Catherine Byrnes,
938 Belmont Ave.,
Springfield, Mass.
My dear Mrs. Byrnes:
Your stating that Mrs. Mary A. Hickey desiros
service in Public Health Work under the Red Cross,
has been received. May I ask whothor Mrs. Hickey
desires home or foreign sorvice, as at the present
time the only opportunity for Public Health nursing
under the Red Crose, for home service is in the
Sanitary Zones surrounding the various cantonments.
Most of theme zones have been supplied witht
nurses, but we aro oppninging the venereal olinics
in most of them and hero the nurmes cannot be se-
cured locally for this service, we are supplying
thme. The salary for this work is $100 without
maintenance. We are sending a numbor of nurses,
public health and others, to France for various
services under the Red Cross. I would be glad to
know which of those services Mrs. Hickoy would
prefor.
Awaiting your reply, I am
Very truly yours,
Director, Department of Nursing.
