My dear Mr. Colemian:
Miss Jennie Pauline Hoagland is an American
Red Cross Nurse, having enrolled in our service in 1913. liss
Hoagland served in various capacities under the American Red Cross
during the war, beginning Peptember 9, 1918, terminating in Sept-
ember 1919.
ile have a record of her having received the two
decorations which you mentioned in your communication. We are
having a translation of the Perbian Red Cross Silver Medal Certificate
made for you which will be forwarded as soon as it is received.
In regard to the Cross of Mercy, I do not quite
understand why she did not receive the citation, which usually goes
with such a decoration. If it was ent to her through us it would
have been forwarded very promptly. A good many of the nurses who
worked in Jugo-Slavia received a similar decoration. Il might be
possible to hak them to have a photograph of their citation ade.
Would your organization be willing to bear the slight expense that
night be incident thereto? If zo will you let me know and I will
try and look after it as promptly as possible.
Very sincerely yours,
N.H
National Pirector, Nursing Service.
