(COPY) Ottawa, July 8, 1920. Mr. F. J. Mulhall, Director - Bureau Personnel, American Red Cross, Washington, D. C. My dear . Mr. Mulhall:- In answer to your letter of July 6, 1920 - When speaking with Mr. Fry in San Francisco last October I explained to him that I would be delayed in New York "en route to Ottawa, Canada", as Colonel Teusler had asked me to see Miss Noyes, "if possible", also that it was necessary for me to see Miss Johnson "A.R.C., Atlantic Division". Mr. Fry then asked me if November 15, 1919, would be satisfactory to receive my salary to. In writing representative in San Francisco and later to Miss Noyes I named the date given to me. I assure you I did not think there would be any question as to my asking for more than is due me. While in the service of the American Red Cross I was in no way extravagant - my expenses being One Hundred and Ninty-four Dollars and Twenty-one cents "$194.21". The statement was given to me by Major B. D. Bramhall before leaving Vladivostok. If you wish I can send you copy of same. Trusting explanation will be satisfactory and that I shall hear from you - Yours sincerely, (Signed) HELEN KINGSBURY 143 James Street, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
