Miss Anna Tittman, Chief Nurse,
American Red Cross Nursing Service,
Vladivostok, Siberia.
My dear Miss Tittman:
I am enclosing a copy of a communica-
tion that has just been received from the Quartermaster
General of the Army, regarding the disposition of the remains
of Miss Edith Barnett You will note that it looks quite
possible to arrange for the transportation of the body im-
mediately, should it be found possible to do so.
I interviewed Miss Helen Kingsbury in
New York, and she gave me a copy of a statement which I under-
stood she had sent to Dr. Teusler. She also showed me a
letter that WAS written by Dr. Bouvier. She made very definite
statements, that both you and Miss Pinder had made frequent
rounds through the hospitals, had ordered changes in the nurs-
ing personnel, etc., without due conference. She also had a
copy of a letter which Dr. Houvier had given her, which I under-
stood he had sent to Dr. Teusler. This I read rather hurried-
ly, but, I have no copy of it.
Miss Kingsbury seems to be very unhappy
over the whole affair, but please believe that I are not making
these statements in any way of criticism, but in order that
you may be award of the type of report that she made to the
personally.
Vary truly yours,
Director, Department of Nursing.
