COPY of letter from Olive A. Chapman, Director, Dept. of Nursing, Mountain
Division, dated August 24th, 1920. (Ack. 8-28-20)
It is somewhat of a disappointment to be
obliged to write you of Miss Morrison's decision to resign as Director
of the Bureau of Instruction, her resignation to take effect October
the first. She wishes to return to training school work and has
accepted a position in charge of the Training School at the Chil-
dren's Hospital, Denver.
While we regret very much losing Miss Morrison,
we consider ourselves very fortunate in securing Miss Alice E. Lake #
884
to fill the position of Director of Instruction. I think you may
remember Miss Lake's work as Secretary of the Colorado State Committee
on Red Cross Nursing Service. She has been very much interested in
Red Cross activities and has been identified with the Division office
more or less, and also went to France in special Red Cross service,
Miss Lake has held a responsible position connected with the Training
School at the Children's Hospital for a number of years, and the
present Superintendent can hardly speak of her leaving; it is a matter
of such regret. Whatever Miss Lake has undertaken has always been
so well done that we feel that we could not make a mistake in this
selection.
I have taken up Miss Lake's appointment with
the Division Manager and he is in favor of her appointment.
