LaLonde\nMary Board\nAlpena, Michigan\nDirector of Nursing Service\n(Hawaiian Service)\nWe have received a letter from Miss Winifred M. LaLonde, of\nAlpena, Michigan, who is volunteering her service for the Army or Navy\nto take effect immediately. She has just passed the age limit, so we\nare submitting her name to you in the event you might wish to consider\nher for the Hawaiian service. We have no information indicating how\nsuccessful she has been since her graduation. The following is the data\nwe have on record for her:\nBadge No. 67724, date of birth, January 10, 1901; graduate\nHerey Hospital, Bay City Michigan, 1935, affiliation Providence Hospital,\nDetroit, Michigan, ten months, Public Health Course, Wayne University, 1937\n(she does not indicate the length of this course but we judge that it was\ntaken at the time she was employed in the Public Health Field in Detroit.)\nHer physical examination record, dated 1937, indicates that she was in good\nhealth except for a slight injury to one eye which she had received in an\nautomobile accident sometime previously, at which time she also had a skull\nfracture. Her experience includes private duty, general duty and Public\nHealth Nursing. According to her records she has done private duty and\nInstitutional work since 1940 and is at present employed in the Alpena General\nHospital.\nWe are advising Miss LaLonde that there is & possibility of\nservice in Hawaii and are asking her to complete the application record,\nalthough we will not advise her to have a physical examination until you\nget in touch with her.
