My dear Miss Lang:

We are enclosing a check for three hundred dollars ($300.00)
to cover your expenses for travel and maintenance. Please note the
enclosed instructions concerning funds for traveling expenses very
carefully. It is necessary to keep all receipts, stubs, etc., while
traveling as well as a detailed record of daily expenses. These are
to be submitted to the Office of Civilian Defense in Hawaii in order
to obtain the travel reimbursement from that office.
Enclosed please find the following#
1. Advance check for $300.00
2. Instructions - Re: Funds for travel
3. Reimbursement agreements
4. Record of traveler's checks
We shall expect you to arrange to arrive in San Francisco by
September 15, 1943, unless we hear from you to the contrary. Please
report to Hotel Bellevue in San Francisco. Be sure to see that all
forms which are to be returned to this office (viz. one immunization
register, one reimbursement agreement, record of traveler's checks). are
in the mail before you leave the Mainland.
