Miss Dorothy M. Ledyard
American Red Cross Medical & Social Child Henlth
Kinsky Palace, Staromestske Nam. Prague 1.
Csecho-Blovakia
My dear Miss Ledyard:
I was very glad to heer from you and to know about your
work and working conditions. I realize that in a pioneer
work in Europe where public health mursing is little under-
stood, there are many difficulties not only in the performance
of the work, but also in matters of organization.
Your success in informing and interesting your committee
and the training which you are giving the student nurses tn
public health nursing should lay a good foundation for the future
and will not be lost.
Your account of the classes for pregnant women conducted by
the doctor and nurses is fine and we are glad to have it for
publicity. One compensation for coping with difficult conditions
and primitive menner of living is the good end immediate results
obtainable and I know you are having this satisfaction.
t time
I hope you will write me from time whether or not there is
any special report to make for all your work is of interest to me.
With best wishes for à Happy Christmas and New Year, I am
Yours sincerely,
Director
