Miss Elizabeth G. Fox,
Director, Public Health Nursing Service,
American Red Cross,
National Headquarters,
Washington, D.C.
My dear Miss Fox:
I have just written to Miss Noyes that
due to the fact that I am resigning from the Red Cross on the
first of January, 1927, I do not feel justified in taking
the long and expensive trip to Atlantic City at this time.
Of course, too, it means if I am away from the office that
length of time that my work accumulates, and since there are
several visits it is important I should make here in our own
territory within the next few months, this course seems to
be the wisest one.
I am quite sure that you will understand
my action, and my only regret is that I am not to see you all
again as I had anticipated. However, I have not yet given up
hope that you will be coming west before long.
Very sincerely yours,
Dorothy Ledyard,
Dourtry R.N., Redyard
Assistant National Director,
Nursing Service.
