RYAN LARKIN AND GROVE STREETS GEORGE E, SCOTT SAN FRANCISCO. CALIF. REAR ADMIRAL E, R. STITT GARRARD B. WINSTON May 3, 1926. con Miss Elizabeth G. Fox, Director, Public Health Nursing Service, American Red Cross, National Headquarters, Washington, D.C. My dear Miss Fox: I have just written to Miss Noyes that due to the fact that I am resigning from the Red Cross on the first of January, 1927, I do not feel justified in taking the long and expensive trip to Atlantic City at this time. Of course, too, it means if I am away from the office that length of time that my work accumulates, and since there are several visits it is important I should make here in our own territory within the next few months, this course seems to be the wisest one. I am quite sure that you will understand my action, and my only regret is that I am not to see you all again as I had anticipated. However, I have not yet given up hope that you will be coming west before long. Very sincerely yours, Dorothy Ledyard, Dourtry R.N., Redyard Assistant National Director, Nursing Service. dl.km 5
