She holds eight honorary doctorate degrees.\nAs Director of the\nUnited States Cadet Nurse Corps during World War II, Mrs. Leone planned and\nhelped administer a greatly expanded program of nursing education in the\nUnited States to meet the needs of our military services, and also to continue\nthe care of civilian patients. Under her leadership, senior cadet nurses\nwere assigned to the military hospitals in the United States to release\ngraduate nurses for active service with the military overseas. Under Mrs.\nLeone's leadership plans were made to maintain high standards of nursing\neducation for the greatly expanded number of student nurses recruited through\nthe cadet nurse program.\nIn recognition of this outstanding work Mrs. Leone was appointed in 1949\n(Continued on pate 3)"
