    "ocrText": "Miss Pelc:\n-2-\nJanuary 24, 1941\nPlease sheck when you receive your uniforms for - 6 white uniforms\nwith short sleeves, detachable belt and buttons, emblem on left sleeve\n(American Red Cross / Nursing); street uniforms - Red Cross Pin on each\nshoulder of short coat, two A.R.C. pins on the collar of short and top-\ncoat, emblem on left sleeve of each coat midway between shoulder and\nelbow (American Red Cross - Harvard Unit). Clamp your bronze A.R.C. pins\nso that they do not become unhooked and lost. it is felt that nurses\nliving out of New York City or Boston will have to stay in New York for\nabout three days before sailing in order to have their street uniforms\nfitted and finished, the expense to be reimbursed by the Red Cross.\nWe have decided to Wear white shirt blouses with a black four-in-\nhand tie to be supplied by the nurse. Boys' shirts are very suitable,\nbut a blouse with a convertible collar serves a double purpose - takes\nthe tie well and can be left open in summer. Three with long sldeves\nare required. If you have any with short sleeves, bring them along.
