TERRITORIAL OFFICE OF CIVILIAN DEFENSE Honolulu, T. H. Sacred Hearts Hospital Honolulu, T.H. COPY December 1, 1943 Mrs. Leah K. Da Costa Sacred Hearts Hospital Honolulu, T.H. Dear Mrs. DaCosta: I was recruited by the American Red Cross and took oath of office February 14, 1943, as a surgical nurse for the Territory of Hawaii, as stated in my contract. For the last four months I have filled various other positions; therefore, I offer my resignation to be effective January 1, 1944, so I may be able to accept a position as surgical nurse. Sincerely yours, S/S Barbara Hoag December 13, 1943 Miss Hoag was recruited for surgery for an emergency hospital on Kauai, Since the work did not materialize, Miss Hoag has been unhappy and dissatisfied. Mins Haaz has accepted a position as surgical new at Owen's Marging Me Hospital Lachlan Margery J. MacLachln Hospital Consultant & Supervisor
