My dear Miss Markley:
I regret that you did not get the letter of intructions
sent out from this office.
The date of sailing has been advanced to about the 10th of
April, but I would request that you report as soon às posaible
.
after having received this letter, to Miss Florence Johneon,
44 East 23rd Street, New York, N. Y. Mas Johnaon has your name
and will see that you meet Miss DeLong, that you mective your
equitment and are directed as to all business matters.
I am enclosing the circular of information which you have
no doubt recoived already.
If you received our first letter of instructions, we ro-
quasted that you report in Now York at least one wgek before
the date of sailing. The date of sailing wild be desiganted
on the instructions received from Dr. Babeock of the Bureau
of Transportation.
You are allowed $3.00 a day hotel bill in New York and $2.00
a day enlary from anto of lenving home, provided you have not stop: d
topped over on the way.
You are paid $60.00 a month and/are able to make any allot-
ment of this sum which you desire before leaving this country.
Thure can ba no change made in the method of payment of salary
after the murses have left this country.
The teria of service is for the period of the war, but nursas,
as you will see in the circular of information, ara permitted to
resign at the end of ono year if transportation facilitids are
such that they can return home and the authorities consider the
reasons for their resignation sufficient. I will notify Miss
Johnson that your oporting has been delayed.
