A telephone call was made for the purpose of discussing the advisability
of considering Mrs. Elizabeth Martin for foreign service with the American
Red Cross. Briefly the points made were:

1. That Miss Hubbard has found Mrs. Martin helpful and co-

operative but stated that time did not make it possible

for her to spend a great deal of time with the nurse;

2. It is Miss Hubbard's belief that a misunderstanding

occurred in regard to Mrs. Martin's responsibility
for recruitment, home nursing, etc., in addition to
the work that she was expected to do with public
health nursing. It is in this connection that Mrs.
Martin feels she has not had the support of the area
and chapter nursing services;
3. In general, Miss Hubbard feels that Mrs. Martin has
done a very nice piece of work and that we would find
her a suitable candidate for the service mentioned.
