Supt., Anny Nurse Corps
1818 H St., N.W.
Washington, D.C.
Dear Colonel Flikke:
I had hoped very much to get over to your office yesterday to
express to you personally my deep appreciation for the assistance you
and Lt. Col. Blanchfield gave me in completing the arrangements for
the excercises held at Miss Maxwell's grave on Sunday.
Captain Baty, Asst. Adjutant General, seemed very happy to com-
ply with your request and provided us with the desired Guard of Honor
and bugler.
You would have-been proud of your Army nurses, members of Gen-
eral Hospital No. 2, who attended the exercises and with the Guard of
Honor provided all the color for the occassoi.
It certainly was most generous of the for them to come
over from Ft. Meade and I am sure they, ES well as the whole Alumae,
Association, feel greatly indebted to you for your assistance in making
the whole thing possible.
Sincerely yours,
Gertrude S. Banfield
GSB/bs
Asst. Director, Nursing Service
