August 7, 1940 Miss Ella Elizabeth McNeil 715 South Forest Street Ann Arbor, Mich. My dear Miss McNeil: Miss Olive Sewell, Secrotary of the Am Arbor Local Committee on Red Croas Nursing Service, has informed us of your willingness to serve as a member and we are very glad to send you this official letter of appointment for three years. We regret that it is impossible to send you a copy of our pamphlet, ARC 710, which outlines the purpose and functions of the Committees as it is in the process of revision. However, we are enclosing a mineographed sheet of extracts which vill no doubt serve your purpose until the panphlet is ready for distribution. Although you are undoubtedly familiar with the require- ments for Red Cross enrollment, you will find the enclosed leaflet, ARC 703, helpful in giving other murses information on this subject. lle should like to urge that you attend the committee meetings that will be called from time to time if you can find it possible to do so, for the chairman and secretary of the committee need the cooperation of every member in order that they may secure the enrollment of nurses in their community, which is the purpose of the committee organization. Fox your information, the following nurses are the officers of the Arn Arbor Local Committee: Miss Charlotte I. Garrison, Chairman Calhoun County Public Hospital Battle Croek, Lich. Miss Olive Sewell, Secretary Capitol Savings & Loan Bldg. Lansing, Mich. With appreciation for your willingness to serve the Red Cross on our Local Committee, I an Sincerely yours, Mary Beard Director, Nursing Service 4
