Penna Chapter, The American Red Cross\n1610 Locust Street\nPhiladelphia, Pa.\nMy dear Miss McNeil:\nWe shall look forward to your visit in August or\nSeptember with a great deal of pleasure. I believe the Ficld Repre-\nsentatives are coming in on the 4th of September for a three days\nconference on roll call. I do not know whether this would be a\ngood time for you to come or not, but I very much doubt it, as\nnone of us will have very much time to devote to you. If, however,\nyou can spend a sufficient period with us it might be desirable\nfor you to be here at that time in order to get the information which\nevery Chapter nurge should have as well as the Field Representatives\non their relations and duties in the coming roll call.\nI was very glad to hear from your letter that you\nwere no longer being made responsible for First Aid and Life Saving.\nThere seens every reason why you should direct the Public Health\nNursing and the Home Hygiene and Care of the Sick and the general\nNursing activities of the Chapter. For example, if nurses were needed\nfor a disaster or for First Aid stations at a big convention or\nparade, such work as this would pass through your hands - at least\nthe nursing aspects of it. As you are Secretary of the local Committee\nyou would be able to secure an adequate supply of Red Cross nurses\nfrom your files. I will make no effort to go into the details of\nthis work as Secretary because it will be so much more satisfactory\nto discuss them in conference rather than through the medium of corres-\npondence\nLooking forward to seeing you sometime within the next\nmonth or two, I am\nVery sincerely yours,\nNational Director, Nursing Service\nCDN-VB"
