My dear Miss Melton:
You will see it is just as I told you - the
letters which you have been writing are still coming back to
us. We are in receipt of a letter which you wrote on
December 22nd to Colonel McIntyre. He has referred it to us
without any comments. I think that we will just file it as
we have the other letters forwarded to us because in my talk
with stands you, and that there explained something is nothing within the accomplished situation the power of through it the how
I have to you as
Red
Cross to do until has been
legislation. I did explain to you how deeply sympathetic I
am and how we all wish that there might be something done for
the group of nurses of which you were one.
We are enclosing the letters, copies of which
have been made for your personal folder.
Sincerely yours,
Ida F. Butler
Director of Nursing
P.S. - Since dictating this letter I have received yours of
December 29th. I knew that when you came to think it over you
would perhaps appreciate that because of my deep interest I did
give you the best advice possible in our talk on the day you were
in the office. I, however, did deeply sympathize with you and
did not at all criticize you because of your feeling on this
subject.
I.F.B.
