    "ocrText": "Re: Nomination Nurse Gertrude E. Mill.\nCopy for Chief Nurse\nAdditional Nurse\nno equip ordered\nOctober 18, 1921.\nMiss Gertrude E. Mill, 23720\nGertrule E. Mill,\n145 East 15 Street,\nNurse\nOakland, California.\nMadam:\nYour nomination as nurse in the U.S.Public Health Service\nhas been recommended to the Department with compensation at the\nrate of $720 per annum, together with quarters, subsistence and\nlaundry, and the 10 per cent increase granted to nurses serving\nin tuberculosis hospitals, to be effective from the entrance\nupon duty.\nYou are to prepare to proceed to U. S. Public Health Ser-\nvice Hospital #55, Fort Bayard, New Mexico, but are not to pro-\nceed before the arrival of further orders with given date and\ntransportation which will be forwarded from the Bureau. Upon\nreceipt of such orders, you are requested to report on the date\ndesignated to the Medical Officer in Charge at Fort Bayard,\nNew Mexico, for duty as nurse.\nIf for any reason you are unable to proceed upon the date\ndesignated, you are requested to notify the Bureau by telegram.\nYou should secure receipts for all money paid out in pro-\nceeding from Oakland, Calif. to Fort Bayard, N.
