    "ocrText": "3/25/35\nNurses' Head Dies\nMiss Lucy Minnigerode, 64, died\ndecorated by the Czar with the\nat 8:30 a. m. yesterday of a stroke\nof apoplexy at the home of her\nCross of St. Anne. In 1925 the Red\nniece-in-law, Mrs. Eliphalet F. An-\nCross awarded her the International\ndrews, on Seminary Hill, Alex-\nFlorence Nightingale medal. Her\nlectures on hygienic matters have\nandria.\nbeen translated into seven lan-\nMiss Minnigerode organized the\nfemale nursing corps for the United\nguages.\nStates Public Health Service in\nHer country home was on Semi-\n1919. At that time all hospitals now\nnary Hill, near Alexandria, where\nunder Veterans' Administration,\nshe spent her summers. During the\nwinter she made her home with Dr.\nand the hospitals of the United\nEstelle Warner, in Georgetown.\nStates Public Health Service, were\nunder one head. The number of hos-\nSurviving are five brothers and\npitals was 76, and nurses under di-\ntwo sisters - Powell Minnigerode,\ndirector of the Corcoran Art Gal-\nrection of Miss Minnigerode were\napproximately 1,700. At the time of\nlery, Washington; George Minnige-\nher death she was head of the Nurs-\nrode, Washington; Charles Minnige-\ning and Dietetics Corps of the\nrode, Baltimore; Col. Fitzhugh Lee\nUnited States Public Health Serv-\nMinnigerode, U. S. Army, retired,\nice, comprising approximately 650\nNew York City; Capt. Karl Min-\nHarris & Ewing.\nnurses and dieticians.\nnigerode, U. S. Army, Peoria, Ill.;\nMISS LUCY MINNEGERODE.\nShe was born at Oaklands, near\nMrs. William Butler, Santiago,\nLeesburg, Va., February 8, 1871, the\nChili, and Miss Anne Minnigerode,\ndaughter of Charles and Virginia\nWashington.\nCuthbert Powell Minnigerode. She\nFuneral services will be conduct-\ntrained at Bellevue Hospital, New\ned at 3 p. m. tomorrow at Vaux-\nYork City. She was one of the first\ncleuse, the home of Mrs. Andrews,\nAmerican Red Cross nurses to\nby the Rev. Dr. Mayer, of the Lees-\nvolunteer for duty overseas, and\nburg Episcopal Church. Burial,\nlater spent a year in/ Red Cross\nwhich will be private, will be in\nhospitals in Keiy, Russia. She was\nMiddleburg."
