THE AMERICAN RED CROSS A. R, C, File PENNSYLVANIA DELAWARE DIVISION HEADQUARTERS RECEIVED 134 SOUTH SIXTEENTH STREET PHILADELPHIA. PA. Peferred to misi JUN 3 1019 INTER-OFFICE LETTER Deans To Miss C.D. Noyes, Acting Director, Department of Nursing. Date June 2, 1919. From Miss S.e. Francis, N.S. Rep., Penna.-Del. Div. 26516 Subject I have your letter of May 28th enclosing extracts of letters from Lillian White and Sally Bryant with regard to Elizabeth Wilson, Badge #26516. I am more mortified than I can tell you that a nurse recommended for foreign service from this Division should have made so early in her assignment such a discreditable record. She was recommended for this service by the Secretary of the Pittsburgh Local Committee, who has been most conscientious in her recommend- ations and in whose judgment I have had implicit confidence. I have never seen Miss Wilson, but from her photographs I judged her to be a somewhat ordinary type of woman. I am sure I need not tell you that her previous record contained nothing that would in any way reveal a tendency to such conduct as you have reported. Yours sincerely, F/B
