April 24, 1917. Miss Mary K. Nelson, Hopital Auxiliaire No 43, 3e Region, Place de St-Valery-En- Caux, (Seine Inferieure) France. My dear Miss Nelson: It seems strange that' the Christmas box should have been so long delayed, but I am thankful that it reached you at last. As I remember nothing perishable was put in the box so that I am hoping even if delayed, all things will prove useful. I still think of the nurses in Europe often and appreciate greatly the splendid work they have done. It is a real relief to know that the cold weather is over for I feel sure that you have suffered greatly during the winter. There is , of course, a possibility that the Red Cross may later send nurses to France but nothing definite has, as yet been decided. It is a relief to the people interested in this country that at last definite stand has been taken and all sorts of preparation are going on. With very best wishes to the nurses and hoping to hear from you occasionally, believe me, Yours sincerely, Chairman, National Committee, Red Cross Nursing Service. D/G.
