National Committee Red Cross Nursing Service,
Washington, D. C.
My dear Miss Delano:
Miss Mary K. Nelson was a student here during
the Summer Session of 1914, which.as you know, is a brief period of
six weeks in which students take part of their work in this Depart-
ment and part in others. I do not consider, therefore, that we are
able to give any very satisfactory information about such students.
I have asked Miss Stewart, however, about Miss
Nelson, and she says that she was a very excellent woman who has
had a good hospital experience, and is highly thought of by Miss
Parker, one of our teachers, who knows her well. Miss Stewart
says further that she is attractive, cultured and strong and force-
ful, that she speaks French well, and ought to be a very valuable
woman in your work at this time. She appears to be unusually well
prepared by personal characteristics and experience for some
supervisory post.
