nelson March 14, 1921. Mr. Arthur G. Rotch, Manager, New England Division, 73 Newbury Street, Boston, Mass. My dear Mr. Rotch: I think ou need have no concern regard- ing Miss Mary K. Nelson's ability to deal with the Public Health Nursing situation. Miss Nelson has commanded the respect and admiration of her associates, and the public at large, wherever she has been. Her five years in France has given her an outlook upon life that has been of immense value to her. Her experience in Training School management and hospital administration gives her the preparation for administrative and organization work that will also be of value to her. If you had indicated to me that you were in- vestigating the credentials of Miss Mary C. Nelson, I could have given you fill information regarding her also, as she is an en- rolled Red Cross nurse. Miss Fox is away today, but I feel sure that she would endorse everything that I have said about Miss Nelson, and am reasonably sure that she would feel that thatPablic Health nursing situation in New England, as far as the Red Cross is con- cerned, is in perfectly hands. Miss Nelson's work in the South has brought her into close cooperation with the State Health Officers, and perhaps no more difficult situation exists than that with which she was brought into touch in the Southern States. Miss Nelson has been with me to-day, and will go from here to Atlanta, where she will help Miss Van de Vrede with the read justments in connection with the work of transferring the Gulf Division to the Southern. mine For will write Sincerely yours, Director - Department of Nursing. N/K
