Neumann,\n+\nLying-In Hospital,\n2nd Ave. & 17th St.,\nS\nNew York City, N.Y.\nMy daar Misa Neumann:\nM\nYour application for foreign serfice\nunder the Red Cross has been received in this office. The Bureau o\nof Personnel will send you definite instructions concerning your\ndate of sailing, and may 1 request that you do not proceed to New\nYork until you have received these instructions.\nI am enclosing circulars of informa-\ntion which give you detailed instructions concerning equipment,\ninsurance, etc. Your Division Director will send you Immunity slips\nwhich you will kindly have filled out and returned to this office\nat the completion of your treatments.\nThe term of service is for such a\nperiod as you may be required, probably one year. Requests for re-\nlease before the termination of this period cannot be considered,\nexcept for serious reasons such as ill health.\nYou are allowed salary which is $70.00\nper month from date of leaving home to date on which you are booited\nto sail. If you are heddd in New York after that thime, the addition-\nal salary will be paid after you reach your destination. During this ti\ntime, as you are in the employment of the lied Cross, you will be ex-\npected to perform such service as may be assigned to you by the Div-\nision Director of Nursing at 44 East 23rd Street. You may make such\nallotment as you may desire of your salary before leaving. this country-\nthis is accomplish after reaching New YOrk. After sailing, however,\nthere can be no change made in the mithod of payment of salaries.\nForms for this purpose will be rovided after reaching New York.\nYou should report as soon after arrival\nin New York as possible (to Miss Florence Johnson at 44 East 23rd Street,\nMiss Johnson is the representative of the Nursing Parvice, and will see\nthat you received your equipment, and will direct you to the Bureau of\npersonnel for necessary information concerning your passport, transport-\nation. insurance, and allètment.\nOne nurse in each group is selected by\nMiss Johnson as the Head Nurse, and she acts as such until they arrive\nat their destination, and report to the office of the Director of the\nNursing Dervice for the Commissione"
