We had short speeches from Miss Olmsted, Miss Hay and Miss Stimson,
and everyone seemed to enjoy it.
Mr. Bedinger came in to see me the other day, and
impressed upon me at this date, (rather late isn't it) that the Harlem
Health Center was a national activity, and I suggested that inasmuch
as it was a national activity it seemed only right that a national
representative should be on the Nursing Committee, that personally

while you might be regarded as such, being at the present time a
national official, I felt quite sure that your appointment was not
made because of that, but because of your interest in local affairs.

Also, that while I personally did not feel anxious at all to serve

on such a Committee, that I certainly thought Miss Fox should be
represented, and that the Nutritional Committee should have Miss Sawyer

or Miss Schuman. He agreed with me, that I was quite right, and I

think he got fust a little different point of view. I am afraid,

however, that his only interest in visiting me was excited by the
fact that more money might be needed later.
