Miss Jessie C. Patterson,
44 East 23rd Street,
New York City.
Dear Madam:
This is to conf.irm the arrangements which wa understnad have
been made with you by the Bureau of Nursing Service.
Your salmey is to be $60.00 per month, dating from February
18th, 1918.
The Red Cross has arranged to pay your transportation expenses
from New York to Palestine.
An allowance of $3.00 periday will be givon to you while in
New York, this allownice, however, will only be extended to you for three
days prior to the proposed date of eniling.
We understand the nestion of allowance for your equipment and
uniform has been covered by your correspondence with the Nurses' Buroau.
In the event that you wish to make an assignment of part of your
salery to anyone in the United States, we would request that you indicate
euch assignment on the attached former and return at your eurliest convenience.
Ve call your attention to the fact that thin de the only form that can be
accepted by the Treasury Department here for making disbursements of salary
in the United Statos.
If you will report to our New York Office, regarding the expenses
which you have incurred in this country, as per the above outline, you will
be reimbursed for the full emount.
We would suggest that you retain this letter, as it may be
requested that you present it on arrival abroad.
