a M about July 31, 1932. From September 1, 1931 - July 1, 1932, diss Mabel J. Rue served as National Director of Home nygiene and vare of the Sick at American National Red Cross deadquarters, Washington, D. c. The following statement prepared for the September 1931 issue of the American Red Cross Courier gives a resume' of Miss Rue's experience and preparation: Rue is & native of Minneapolis and received her normal trining in Valley City, N.- She is a graduat of the Good Samaritan School of Nurses, Los Angeles, and holds B. S.-M. A. degrees from Teachers College, Columbia University, New York City. Ag Instructor and later as chapter director of Home Hygiene in Milwaukee, Miss Rue organized the class work in the vocational and high schools in that city and county. While educational director and supervisor of child welfare with the Gattaraugus County health demonstration, New York, she taught the nurses on the staff how to conduct the Red Cross class work. Miss ine also served the Visiting Nurse Association, St. Louis, Mo., as educational and associate director. And for six years. she was instructor in elementary grades and in schools of nursing, and did visiting nurse work with the famed Henry Street Se tlement in New York City." In the summer of 1931, Miss Rue was Director of Teacher Training Courses for Home lygiene Instructors at the University of Galifornia.
