My dear Miss Noyes: We are considering Miss Mabel Rue for the position of instructor and supervisor in clinic nursing and public health. As she has been with you recently in the Red Cross, will you kindly advise me regarding her personality, including personal appearance, her ability to obtain cooperation from others, and to adjust herself to a new environment and new methods of work. The nurse in this position will need considerable initiative, as we wish to incorporate the principles of health teaching and preventive nursing throughout the entire basic course, in addition to the development of specific experience and teaching in the out-patient department.
