Extract of letter from Miss For to Miss Olive Chapman, Director of Nursing
Service, Southwestern Division, May 11, 1922.
A year or more ago Miss Eva Smythe served for a while as a state supervising
nurse in Mi ssouri and I think did good work. She might be a possible person
to consider as your assistant. My recollection of her was that she was a
person with rather strong opinions and a good deal of determination. Just
why she left Missouri, I do not recall. Mrs. Tuck, under whom Miss Smythe
served when she was Mi SS Pinder, could tell you much more about her. Mrs.
Tuck's address is: 129 Columbus Heights, Brooklyn, N.Y. I do not know what
Miss Smythe is doing at present and I am not sure she is the person you Want,
but she certainly is a very capable thoroughgoing individual and might be a
great help to you. I am enclosing a statement of the information we have
about her.
